It was a Hot Girl Summer …

Let's Talk About-7Damn man, I hate to see summer come and go; school is officially starting, the activities are winding down, and pumpkin flavored everything has taken over.  Don’t get me wrong, the heat can be disrespectful A.F, but I love having wild nights with my girls, and spending an evening or two in somebody’s pool.  And yet, now it’s all slowly coming to an end. What does that mean for us? I mean, I’m still trying to have a hot girl summer and we’re transitioning to fuck it all fall: no more rooftop parties (like I’ve ever been to one, ha), no more pool daze and no wild nights galavanting on the strip.  Wait, let me pause for a second – although I wish I was low key a party girl, sadly I’m almost 30 so staying up past 1:00 AM is kind of a struggle, and on my days off 2 hour long naps are necessary, but hey, when I go out … sis, I go out.

Instead of hibernating in the house for the next few months, I still plan to get out and stay active.  Listen, if it’s a rooftop party, let me grab a jacket sis. Oh, we’re going to the beach? I mean, pneumonia is a real thing, but I guess that’s why we layer up.  I’m just trying to live my best life, however … whenever. Let’s trade in sundresses for bomb ass hoodies and leggings (because you never have too many pairs), flip flops for booties, but sis, keep going with that mimosa … those are endless.  Trust me, mimosas are year round treasures.

My point of all this is that whenever the weather shifts, we see people less.  Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like the cold just as much as any other person, but don’t let the weather serve as an excuse to not live.  I’m guilty of it; every fall/winter, I tell myself “when it gets warmer I’ll do it,” and I use those two seasons as a scapegoat to stay in the house and have little to no interaction on the nightlife scene simply because it’s too cold.  We may not be able to go to the oceanfront and spend our days in somebody’s pool with a margarita in one hand and filming videos for instagram with the other, but I’m making a better effort at experiencing what’s going on around me. But don’t get it twisted sis, Hot Girl Summer is still going to be played on repeat all fall.  It’s the anthem, I have to let it ride.

I love this blog post way too much!! This is all of the truth! The one thing about fall I look forward to, is boots! I have a huge collection, so it’ll be fun to bring that back out.

Right.. when the weather shifts, you do see people less. I’m one of them. My husband says I hybernate. Lol! Hot girl summer it was for sure. I stay consistent though. I just enjoy life different and privately.
